Accessibility Commitment
Wholly Water Farms is committed to making its website accessible to the widest possible audience. We design and develop with accessibility in mind and work to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines across the site.
Our accessibility efforts include:
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements, including links, buttons, forms, and menus, are reachable and operable using a keyboard alone.
- Screen reader support: Pages use semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and descriptive labels so assistive technologies can interpret content structure and interactive controls.
- Zoom and text resizing: Content remains readable and functional when zoomed to 200% or when text size is increased through browser settings.
- Skip navigation link: A skip-to-content link is provided so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation and reach page content directly.
- Semantic landmarks: Pages use heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and list structures that help assistive technologies present content in a logical order.
- Visible focus indicators: Interactive elements display visible focus outlines so keyboard users can track their position on the page.
- Text alternatives: Images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them. Charts and diagrams include text descriptions of the data they present.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some limitations exist:
- Third-party sites: Links to external websites, government databases, and partner platforms lead to sites outside our control. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party content.
- Historical scans and archival documents: Some historical images and scanned documents may not have full text alternatives. Where practical, we provide transcriptions or summaries. If you need an accessible version of a specific document, please contact us.
- Future interactive content: As the site adds interactive features such as maps, filtering tools, or data visualizations, accessibility will be tested during development. New features may have temporary gaps that are resolved as they are identified.
