Research & Evidence Standard

How WWF sources, labels, versions and publishes agricultural information — and how readers can distinguish between peer-reviewed science, extension guidance, founder experience, modeled projections and real farm operating data.

Evidence Labels

Every factual claim published on the WWF platform carries an evidence label identifying its source category. Readers should never have to guess whether a number comes from a peer-reviewed study, an extension bulletin, the founder's prior experience or a spreadsheet model.

Peer-Reviewed

Data sourced from peer-reviewed academic journals, published research papers or systematic reviews. Includes citation with DOI or journal reference. Highest confidence level for biological and technical claims.

Extension / Agency

Data sourced from UF/IFAS extension publications, FDACS bulletins, USDA resources, FDA guidance or other government agricultural agencies. Authoritative and regionally relevant but not peer-reviewed in the academic sense.

Founder Observation

Data from the founder’s prior growing, aquaculture or livestock experience. Clearly labeled as personal observation, not WWF farm data. Useful for direction-setting but not for production guarantees. Will be replaced by WWF operating data when available.

Modeled / Projected

Numbers generated from spreadsheet models, industry benchmarks or calculated estimates. Assumptions are stated explicitly. Modeled figures are placeholders that will be replaced by actual operating data as production begins.

WWF Operating Data

Data from current, dated WWF production records. Includes batch identifiers, measurement dates, environmental conditions and sample sizes. This is the target state for all published production metrics. Not yet available for any enterprise.

Technical Guide Standard

Technical guides published on the WWF platform (microgreen growing guides, mushroom cultivation references, aquaponics system design, etc.) follow a consistent format:

Source Attribution

Every guide identifies its primary sources. Extension publications, academic references, manufacturer specifications and founder observations are cited individually so readers can verify claims independently.

Version Control

Guides carry version numbers and revision dates. When new evidence changes a recommendation, the guide is updated with a revision note explaining what changed and why. Readers always see the current version.

Scope Boundaries

Each guide states what it covers and what it does not. A microgreen growing guide covers seed-to-harvest protocols but does not cover food-safety certification, business licensing or market pricing unless explicitly scoped.

Florida Context

Guides are written for Florida conditions unless stated otherwise. Temperature ranges, humidity levels, pest pressures, regulatory references and seasonal timing reflect Central Florida growing environments.

Five Operating Principles

These principles govern every piece of content published on the WWF platform.

Label everything.

Every data point, recommendation and claim carries an evidence label. Readers never have to guess the source category.

Separate plans from evidence.

What WWF plans to do is clearly distinguished from what WWF has done. Future tense and conditional language mark plans. Past tense and dated records mark evidence.

Publish failures alongside successes.

Contaminated batches, failed species trials, equipment breakdowns and below-target yields are documented and published. The platform earns trust by reporting reality.

Version and date everything.

Guides, data tables and recommendations carry version numbers and dates. When content changes, the revision history explains what changed and why.

Replace modeled data with operating data.

Every modeled number is a placeholder. As WWF systems come online, modeled figures are replaced with real operating data tied to dated production records.
